Description:
This is the emblem of my family's original tribe, dating from (as far as we can trace it) 8th century BC, but it seems to be much older. It refers to the balance between spirit (represented by a hawk) and rationality (represented by a snake). I read on your site that a winner might be given a copy of the finished product, and I thought (if this happens to interest you) that it may make for a nice gift for my son.
