The Chariot card
The seventh card in the Major Arcana. It usually marked as card number 7.
The Chariot card is a triumph and victory card. It originates in the ancient customs of victory parades from ancient Roman times. The card symbolizes the battle in which one can achieve victory through great willpower and the ability to overcome obstacles and gain control over our inner powers. The battle may be an internal or external one. Victory requires self-confidence, sureness and hard work. These are the keys to achieving victory.
Card reading meaning
At a basic level, the card represents struggles with external sources that in the end bring victory. The card also speaks about victory at deeper levels such as achieving victory over our self and our ability to overcome fear, laziness, addictions and such. The ability to control opposite feelings and wishes inside our self is the key to achieving the goal.
The card tells us never to surrender and continue our struggle. We must have full confidence that victory will come. The questioner needs assertiveness will power self control and self-discipline. All of these will make him "rest on his laurels" in his own triumph.
The card contains a certain warning regarding our desire to achieve victory just for the sake of victory. We must differentiate when the struggle is relevant and when the victory is just stubbornness for the sake of victory only.
