Symbol of curiosity and openness

Experience the joy of living with great curiosity

The ARAFEL ring is inspired by the Dune books written by Frank Herbert.

Herbert used many symbolic meanings in his books. The story spreads ten thousands of years and shows the repetition of cosmic processes. The sandworm creature in all the books symbolizes, through its life cycle and symbiosis with the dune star, the ouroboros snake – an ancient alchemic symbol for the universe and its cyclic nature.

Prophetic ability as opposed to the essence of creation

At some point, one of the heroes becomes one with the sandworm and gains the ability to experience the universe without the limitation of time. He gains full prophetic abilities. Herbert shows us how that ability is contrary to the very nature of existence. When the future is known and clear there is no point to creation. The essence of experience and love disappears. After thousands of years of corporeal existence the hero chooses to end his own existence.

ARAFEL (fog) and the joy of living

Thousands of years after the hero’s death, the hidden treasure of the drug that gives prophetic power was found. On the wall next to the drug was one word carved in Hebrew– ARAFEL (fog). This word expresses the deepest wish to be able to avoid seeing everything and therefore to experience real joy and curiosity in life.

The ARAFEL ring reminds the wearer to be curious, loving and joyful in his life.
