"Grace and truth champion (are superior to) gold and silver" was written by Rabbi Nachman of Braslav as a good luck saying for abundance and success. Gold and silver function as a symbol of abundance in the Jewish tradition. The concepts of “truth” and “grace” are mentioned together frequently. The accepted interpretation of these terms is: Truth - an obligatory fulfillment or a promise; Grace - a deed that is beyond obligation or promise (see also Hassid)

For example Zechariah 7-9 "Thus hath the LORD of hosts spoken, saying: Execute true judgment, and show mercy and compassion every man to his brother;” - Truth is connected to law and grace is connected to compassion.

Proverbs 20-6 ”Most men will proclaim every one his own goodness; but a faithful man who can find?” - Which means many people are ready to go beyond the call of duty but few are ready to do their duty.

Genesis 32-11 “I am not worthy of all the mercies, and of all the truth, which Thou hast shown unto Thy servant; for with my staff I passed over this Jordan; and now I am become two camps.” - You have done justice unto me that you fulfilled your promise to protect me in Aram, and you were extremely compassionate unto me that you gave me great bliss.

Psalms 26-3 “For Thy mercy is before mine eyes; and I have walked in Thy truth“.
