Horeb Unification<\/strong> – Unique Eye of Horus Design

This piece was designed by Milton Thompson and won David’s jewelry design contest.<\/p>\n

Here is what Milton wrote about the design:
\n\u201cI designed this as my Egyptian trinity, incorporating the left eye for mind, the right eye for body, and the ankh for spirit in the third eye position. I included a representation of a Died column and three holy conical breads of white powdered gold.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

The image of the eye was actually taken from the image of a falcon\u2019s eye. The falcon was the symbol of Horus, the god of the Sky, and the rich fertile black land. In mythology, it was said that his right eye was the Sun and his left eye was the Moon, and that they traversed the sky, when he, in the image of a falcon flew across it. According to myth, his left eye, became the pale moon, when his nemesis, the god seth (ruler of the desert, the god of storm, disorder and chaos) gouged his eye during one of their battles. He was healed and restored by Thoth, the god of knowledge and magic, hence, the eye became a symbol of protection, magic and healing.<\/p>\n
