About the Assembly Time
The Moon’s conjunction with Mercury and both were also aligned with the fixed star Rigel! Rigel is the brightest of the Orion constellation and the 7th brightest in the night sky. In the ancient world, Rigel was considered a very fortunate fixed star, denoting benevolence, honour, fame, wealth, happiness, renown, and intellectual, inventive and mechanical abilities. According to an ancient text attributed to Hermes Trismegistus, Rigel and Aldebaran are the most fortunate of all fixed stars.

Together, the very dignified Mercury in Gemini aligned with Rigel, greatly enhances mercurial abilities and their manifestation powers in the world. Their combined utility can bring great powers to the mind, and also achieve great success in their worldly affairs and activities. This Talisman is great for enhancing learning skills and communication, memory and deep understanding and inventiveness. It is great for business success and for achieving fame and wealth in general, and also through one’s knowledge, writing, teaching and communication abilities.

The Mercury Talisman election features Mercury in his own sign of Gemini, culminating at the Midheaven, while also ruling the rising sign (Virgo). Mercury is conjunct the Moon and the Fixed Star Rigel.

In its deeper manifestations, Mercury is considered to be the “revealer of mysteries”, and can help in gaining a very high understanding of the occult and abstract truths, with the ability to define and communicate them.

The Emerald Tablet of Hermes Trismegistus is one of the most mysterious, cryptic and enigmatic texts. The text is actually derived from the Hermetic tradition - an ancient Greek and Egyptian philosophical texts which are attributed to the mysterious figure known as Hermes Trismegistus. The texts are a combination of the Egyptian god of wisdom, Thoth and the Greek god Hermes. In these texts, Hermes discuss with his disciples, the true nature of the cosmos, nature, the mind etc. These teachings can be found in the ancient texts of the Corpus Hermeticum. These texts are dated back to the 2nd and 3rd century AD and their origin is probably Egyptian. Although Hermes Trismegistus is the author named in the text, its first known appearance is in a book written in Arabic between the sixth and eighth centuries.

The Emerald Tablet is the most famous piece of Hermetica and is said to contain the secret of the Prima Materia - the base of all matter and existence which is formless and beyond definition (that is the reason for the endless similes in the Alchemical language). The Prima Materia or the Aether is also described by the ancient alchemists as the Anima Mundi or the “World Soul”. It is the soul, or oneness that connects everything and IS everything.

The European alchemists believed it to be the secret recipe for the creation of what is known as The Philosopher’s Stone - a substance that is said to possess the power of transmutation of matter (such as turning lead to gold) and give immortality and rejuvenation, therefore known as The Elixir of Life.

Over the years and upon contemplating on the words of this text, one can actually discover the many layers and hidden meanings of these words of wisdom. The text speaks volumes of ancient Taoism and different concepts of Buddhism. It was none other than Sir Isaac Newton, one of the greatest and most influential scientist in human history who claimed that many of his ideas came from the Corpus Hermeticum and the Emerald Tablet (which he translated).

When I came to design this text as a pendant I’ve decided to incorporate all of its Greek and Egyptian origin in my design with the ancient Alchemical similes. On the front side, the outer “frame” is composed of the four classical elements (water, air, earth and fire) and I’ve used the ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs for each one of them. On the top right, it's Earth, On the bottom right, it is Water, on the bottom left, it's Air and On the top left, it's Fire.

The center of the pendant is set with an emerald stone and the whole structure of the pendant, the circle with the point in its center is actually the ancient symbol of the Monad. The term Monad comes from the Greek word "Menein" which means "to be stable" and from the Greek word "Monas" which means "Oneness". The ancient Greeks called the Monad – the base, the essence, the foundation and the builder.

The ancient Pythagoreans believed that nothing can exist without a center and that the existence revolves around the center. The center is the source that cannot be grasped or understood but can spread and become a circle.

On the back of the pendant at the outer circle is, of course, the ancient symbol of the Ouroboros which in Alchemy represents also the Prima Materia, and the constant change and transmutation of matter and the universe. At the center of the back of the pendant appears the ancient symbol of alchemy.

Since I find that the ideas in this text can actually "transmute" and expand one's consciousness (and perhaps that the genuine secret of this text) I've decided to create for myself an Emerald tablet pendant, and of course make it available to all of you...

Emerald Tablet Translation (From Fulcanelli)
1) It is true without untruth, certain and most true:
2) that which is below is like that which is on high, and that which is on high is like that which is below; by these things are made the miracles of one thing.
3) And as all things are, and come from One, by the mediation of One, So all things are born from this unique thing by adaption.
4) The Sun is the father and the Moon the mother.
5) The wind carries it in its stomach. The earth is its nourisher and its receptacle.
6 The Father of all the Theleme of the universal world is here.
6a) Its force, or power, remains entire,
7) if it is converted into earth.
7a) You separate the earth from the fire, the subtle from the gross, gently with great industry.
8) It climbs from the earth and descends from the sky, and receives the force of things superior and things inferior.
9) You will have by this way, the glory of the world and all obscurity will flee from you.
10) It is the power strong with all power, for it will defeat every subtle thing and penetrate every solid thing
11a) In this way the world was created.
12) From it are born wonderful adaptations, of which the way here is given.
13) That is why I have been called Hermes Tristmegistus, having the three parts of the universal philosophy.
14) This, that I have called the solar Work, is complete.
