The Ouroboros Pendant

The word Ouroboros originates from the ancient Greek words oura (“tail”) and boros (“eating” or “devouring”) — literally meaning “the one who devours its own tail.”

Depicted as a serpent or dragon forming a perfect circle, the Ouroboros is one of humanity’s oldest and most profound symbols.

For thousands of years, it has represented renewal, transformation, infinity, and the eternal cycle of creation and destruction. A symbol of endings becoming beginnings, of life continuously recreating itself through change.
For me personally, the Ouroboros has accompanied my journey for many years.
It became a reminder that transformation is rarely comfortable — yet necessary. It represents the courage to shed old identities, to step into the unknown, and to consciously recreate ourselves throughout life.
Across ancient cultures, alchemical traditions, and mystical philosophy, the Ouroboros symbolized the eternal return — the understanding that existence itself moves in cycles. Death gives birth to life. Chaos gives birth to order. Every ending contains the seed of a new beginning.
In alchemy, it represented the Magnum Opus — the great inner work of transformation.
On a personal level, the Ouroboros reminds us that we are not fixed beings. We are constantly evolving, healing, breaking apart, and rebuilding ourselves anew.
On a cosmic level, it reflects something even greater: a universe continuously creating itself from itself — infinite, cyclical, alive.
One of the most unexpected places where I encountered the deeper meaning of this symbol was through Neil Peart, the legendary drummer and lyricist of the band Rush, who passed away a few years ago.
Peart — often called “The Professor” for his intellectual lyrics and extraordinary musicianship — once wrote a song called Red Barchetta, inspired by a story about a future where creativity and individuality are slowly erased in favor of conformity and sterile control.
Years later, tragedy struck his life in unimaginable ways. In 1997, he lost his only daughter in a car accident, and less than a year later, his wife passed away from cancer.
Broken by grief, he disappeared from public life and embarked on a solitary motorcycle journey across North and Central America, traveling over 55,000 miles in search of healing, meaning, and renewal.
Eventually, he returned to music.
Years later, while watching one of Rush’s concerts, I noticed something striking: the Ouroboros symbol covered his drum kit and stage design.
At that moment, the symbol revealed itself to me in an entirely different way.
Not merely as an ancient mystical emblem — but as a symbol of the human spirit’s ability to endure devastation, transform suffering, and begin again.
Over the years, I have received many deeply personal letters from people who connected with this symbol in their own lives.
One message, in particular, stayed with me.
A man named Ronald wrote to me after receiving his Ouroboros Ring. He suffered from severe health conditions, including spina bifida, chronic arthritis, emphysema, angina, and complications following two heart surgeries. After being told he would never walk again, he slowly began taking his first steps with the help of a cane.
Yet emotionally, he still carried fear, fragility, and a loss of confidence.
A few days after receiving the ring, he wrote that something within him had shifted.
Refence to the above, I would like to share something with you.
I am disabled, with spina bifida, cervical spondelosis, emphasemia, chronic arthritus plus angina, following two heart operations. Just over 3 years ago I was told I would never walk again. I prayed to THE LORD GOD to heal me, in addition to my prayers many friends throughout the world were also praying for me. On 9/23,my prayers were answered and I took my first few small steps with the aid of a walking stick. I have made steady progress since then and now have a buggy, which enables me to travel away from the care home where I live.

I was very apprehensive about going out on my own, my confidence in myself was lacking, and I was pleased that I could walk but worried about being out on my own. Then the OUROBORUS RING arrived, and upon putting it on my finger, within a matter of just a few minutes, I felt mentally, physically and spiritually uplifted. I felt my confidence coming back and took a taxi into the city, something I had never done since becoming wheelchair bound. I felt good and in complete control of whatever transpired.

By coincidence, a few days later I had an appointment with my doctor for my 6 monthly check up. He remarked on how well I was looking, confirmed my blood pressure was
normal and my breathing test proved clear. He further remarked that my walking has improved, my posture was erect and gave me a clear bill of health.

My health problems (detailed above) are still with me, but I don't seem to notice the pain so much. I attribute all of this to the OUROBORUS RING. I have since gone out to the local shops on my little buggy and felt quite secure.

In conclusion I would just like to say thank to David for this beautiful and powerful ring.

Many Blessings
Ronald
Shalom
What moved me most was not whether the ring possessed some mystical power.
It was the reminder that symbols matter.
Human beings have always carried symbols, rituals, and sacred objects — reminders of strength during moments when they temporarily forget their own.
And perhaps that is the true meaning of the Ouroboros:
The understanding that no matter how broken, lost, or exhausted we become, life continuously invites us to begin again.
Again and again.
Endlessly.
