Assembled on the 25th of May 2017 under a unique timing when the Moon was exactly conjunct Mercury, while they were rising on the eastern horizon.

A Powerful Talisman invoking strong mental powers, practical thinking, retention of memory and technical skills. It empowers not only learning skills but also the practical application of any craft, whether artistic or otherwise. It also helps in material gain and physical (and emotional) support and protection.

This conjunction of the Moon with Mercury is also auspicious because it is in the sign of the Moon’s exaltation (Taurus) where it is very powerful and effective. The Moon magnifies and “translates” the light of Mercury into earthly things. It does not only amplifies the Mercurial traits of intelligence, communication, speaking, writing etc, but also directs them into practical matters, as a wisdom that can be concretely expressed. It gives mental perseverance and fortitude, technical understanding and craftsmanship and the ability to commit to something (either study, writing, research or other things) and keep a balanced pace and mental focus and control.

Mercury is also very dignified, being in its own term/bound and decan/face. He is also a powerful morning star (rising in the morning before the sun) just a few days after its heliacal rising.

Lastly, Mercury is also the ruler of the Sun (as the Sun is in his sign of Gemini), This gives him even more power and authority in this elected time.

This Conjunction is on the 8 degree of Taurus which is also exactly on the fixed star Shedir (18 Alpha Cassiopeiae m 2.23) a bright and fortunate star having to do with deep wisdom, mysticism and writing (and also “the power of commanding respect” according to ptolemy)

The words on the Talisman are “Phronesis” (Ancient Greek: φρόνησις, phronēsis) which is a Greek word for a type of wisdom or intelligence. It is more specifically a type of wisdom relevant to practical things, requiring an ability to discern how or why to act virtuously and encourage practical virtue, and excellence of character. And the word “Techne” (Ancient Greek: τέχνη, tékʰnɛ ) which is a term, that is often translated as “craftsmanship”, “craft”, “art” or “skill”.
