The Chaldean order is really a hierarchy of the forces represented by celestial bodies. This order expresses itself in a timeline and is taken from the orbits of the seven visible planets, and their relative distance, therefore every one of the planets in its turn rules a stage in the linear process of time. The hierarchy is from the slowest of the visible seven – Saturn, all the way through to the fastest and closest - the moon.

One of the uses of this astrological code is in prediction, as for knowing the 'chronocrator', the ruler of the time, in the process of a native's life, in that way the form and character of the experience can be predicted.

These metals show the stages, and are the material of the 'great work' of the alchemist, which is aimed at producing the gold/philosopher stone. Those seven metals are material expression signifying essential principles of creation and the psyche, in their 'alchemical' evolution towards the 'gold'-spirit.
